CabEasy.com allows taxi travelers to share cab rides.
 They can create new cab rides or browse the map to find the ones that match their route.
They can then contact each other and arrange to meet.
Why would I share cab rides ???
There are many reasons ! Here are a few:
  • Be Green !! There are 13,000 yellow cabs in New York and another 40,000 "for-hire" cars. Over 15,000 in Paris. About 20,000 "Black Cabs" in London ... In NYC, they carry over 250 million passengers a year on over 800 millions miles !
    The results are pollution, noise, traffic, congestion, ... If two persons went the same way, why not take one cab instead of two ?
  • Save money !! Save some cash, simply. JFK Airport to Manhattan is about 60 USD. CDG Airport to Paris is about 60€ (= 90 USD). Heathrow to central London: £50 to £60 (= 100 to 120 USD).
    Share your cab ride and Boom ! It's more money in your pocket.
  • Save time !! In some cities, people are lucky: raise your arm and a cab will stop in the next 10 seconds (yes, Newyorkers, I'm speaking about you). In others, grabbing a cab can be more difficult than Survivor: The Amazon (yes, Parisians, my heart is with you).
    If you arrange in advance, the whole process could be easier !
But CabEasy.com could also be useful for regular taxi trips (going everyday to work? catching a train or plane every friday?). If you use a taxi on a regular basis, why not keep some green in the pocket, or just meet new people ? We are 100% sure that at least one person in your area goes to the same location. Why not share a cab ?
Is CabEasy.com free ?
Yes, it is, and will remain free for a basic usage. We might offer premium accounts with additional features in the future.
Who can use CabEasy.com ?
Anyone who wants to save money, be greeeeeen, avoid the queues, meet people...
Where can I use CabEasy ?
Anywhere ! (as long as there are cabs, of course).
It could be especially practical (and cost effective!) to share a cab / taxi from an airport or to an airport.

Who created CabEasy.com and why ?

I, Laurent Kretz, created CabEasy on my free time.
Why ? Because over the last year, each time I came back from JFK to my apartment in East Village, I took a cab - 40mn vs 1h30 with the subway: when you're tired, it counts !
However, it's expensive and I always try to share it with someone. So I figured, let's as well create something to arrange in advance to share cab rides ! (cause I could use some saving ............. :-))
So there you are, some time later (CabEasy was started in September 2008), CabEasy.com is out !
